Helenโs Story
Helen was extremely unhappy with the cosmetic eyeliner tattoos she had received elsewhere and came to Bianco Beauty for a cosmetic laser tattoo removal consultation after finding us on Google.
After many sessions, Helen has finally completed her cosmetic tattoo removal and is over the moon with the results.
We recently interviewed Helen to talk about her end-to-end eyeliner removal journey so that others in the same position as her can get an accurate look at the process.
The Discovery Process
โI absolutely hated my cosmetic eyeliner tattoos. I cannot even begin to tell you how much I hated it. It was completely uneven, with some thicker and some thinner bits. There was even a bit that went onto my actual eyelid. It was horrendous!
When I got it done, I was told it was semi-permanent and would fade, but it didnโt. SPMU is a permanent thing.
I started searching for laser eyeliner removal, which was a minefield. Some places didnโt fill me with confidence as they didnโt mention their safety protocols or made baseless promises about getting rid of the eyeliner in X number of sessions.
I found Bianco Beauty and called them, and the first thing I asked about was their safety protocols. They confirmed that they had medical-grade cornea protection shields of all different sizes and that Bartek had a lot of experience in eyeliner removal, which made me feel confident about coming to them.
They were also very honest about being unable to tell me how many sessions I would need, as there is no one-size-fits-all. Everybody and every tattoo is different. I really appreciated that honesty. It made me want to trust them.
I donโt live in Milton Keynes, so coming to Bianco Beauty involved travelling for an hour and a half, but it would be worth the journey if it was the right place.โ
Initial consultation
โOn my first visit, everyone was so friendly from the moment I stepped in the door. Catherine at the front desk was lovely; everybody had nice smiling faces and made me feel comfortable, and I loved the ambience of the place. It was so professional and clean.
During my initial consultation, Bartek talked me through what would happen, advised me about expectations and explained that the results would take time.
Iโve done a lot of Googling and watched videos of removals, but I knew that everyoneโs journey is different. We donโt know what kind of ink was used, how deep the tattoo was or how my body would respond to treatment. All of these things would affect how long the removal would take.
Bartek was very upfront in saying that he didnโt know how many sessions I would need and we would have to take it session by session. That honesty was very important to me, and it made me want to trust him.โ
The removal process
โThe results were slow at first, but I knew to expect that, and I kept going with it, which was the right decision.
I was seeing marginal gains each session, and although it was slow progress, seeing small areas where the ink was disappearing filled me with confidence. I never thought about giving up, and Iโm so glad I didnโt.
I canโt say it was a pain-free treatment, but itโs not as if itโs a prolonged thing. Itโs a momentary pain.
Bart talked me through breathing exercises and counting and always told me what he was doing. Heโd tell me when he was going to start with the laser, when weโd done one eye, and when we were moving on to the other.
The last little bits to go were the annoying bits in the corners of my eyes where the ink had gone deeper, but now, finally, theyโre gone!
I got there in the end, and I canโt tell you how happy I am because itโs just made me feel so much better in myself.โ
Eye protection shields โ Internal Ocular Shields
Internal ocular shields are protective metal lenses that protect your eyes from the laser during any laser treatments that are taking place within the orbital rim (around your eye). They are essential for safe laser treatment close to your eye.
โThe eye protection shields (cornea shields) are not painful. They are slightly uncomfortable because we are not used to putting things on our eyeballs, but the more times you have them in, the easier it gets.โ
The results
โWhen I came for my final appointment, I cried because this has made such a difference to how I feel about myself.
Iโd had this eyeliner for so many years, and I thought I was stuck with it forever. When I went out without makeup on, I would feel really conscious that people might be looking at me and judging me for my eyeliner. I used to worry about people looking at me and thinking, โWhatโs up with her eyes?โ but now I look normal.
It may have taken a long time for the eyeliner to go, but the amount of money Iโve spent on covering foundations, concealers, and eyeshadows to try and hide the botch that Iโve got was probably hundreds.
Now itโs gone, I feel more confident in myself. I feel relieved, and I feel so happy that Iโve done this journey. Iโm now eyeliner free!
There are probably quite a lot of people out there who think that nothing can be done with their eyeliner or their semi-permanent make-up, but if mine could be fixed, there is hope for anyone.โ
