The Dermapen device has a smaller surface area than traditional rollers. As such, difficult to reach areas such as around the eyes, nose, and upper lip are much easier to access. This ensures the practitioner can treat more areas.
The microneedles in a Dermapen penetrate the skin vertically, whereas the needles on a roller penetrate the skin at an angle, causing more chance of damage to the skin and inconsistent micro-injuries, resulting in a much longer healing process.
Different areas of the skin benefit from different needle depths, and this can be achieved with the option of needle depth adjustment through Dermapen, whereas the roller purely offers a single needle depth for treatment. Delicate areas such as the eye area can only have minimal penetration; therefore, these areas should be avoided during Dermaroller treatments but can benefit from the 0.2mm setting on the Dermapen device.
