Is the procedure painful?

Use a minimum SPF30 on the treated area after it has healed, as exposure to the sun can cause discolouration and fading of the pigment.
What can I do to help the healing process?
At the time of your treatment, you will be given full aftercare instructions. To ensure optimum results, please ensure you follow the aftercare advice given during your appointment and on the aftercare leaflet provided.
Is Semi-Permanent Make-Up safe?
Yes, Semi-Permanent Make-Up is completely safe. Working to strict clinically hygienic standards using sterile equipment, only fully trained and experienced professionals carry out our treatments.
Can I wear make-up after my treatment?
You will have to wait until your skin is fully healed before wearing any make-up. Make-up can be worn on surrounding areas, but the area which has been treated should be kept make-up free until fully healed.
What will I look like straight after my treatment?
Your Semi-Permanent Make-Up colour will be considerably stronger immediately after the treatment, but it will soften to a more natural shade in time. It is not unusual for lips to appear swollen immediately after the first treatment, but they will return to the natural size and shape within a few days.
How long does Semi-Permanent Make-Up last?
Semi-Permanent Make-Up typically lasts between 12 to 36 months. Regular annual colour boosts are recommended to keep the make-up looking at it’s very best. Please be aware that even though it is called Semi-Permanent Make-Up, it is highly unlikely that the pigment will completely disappear and the skin will revert to its pre-tattooed state even after 36 months.
Can I drink alcohol and caffeine prior to my treatment?
It is advisable to avoid alcohol and caffeine the night before and the day of the treatment, as alcohol and caffeine consumption can affect pigment retention.
Can I still have treatment on eyes or brows if I have tint on them?
If you regularly have tint applied to eyebrows or eyelashes, please ensure that the area is kept tint-free for at least 7 days prior to, and 14 days after the treatment.
Will I need to take time off work after my treatment?
You should be able to return to work immediately after your treatment. Lips can be more swollen than normal immediately after the treatment so you may want to take this into consideration. As long as your work allows you to adhere to the aftercare instructions, then there are no restrictions on your return to work.
Can I donate blood after Semi-Permanent Make-Up treatment?
The National Blood Service currently request that donors wait for 4 months after having Semi-Permanent Make-Up before giving blood.
Can I have Laser Hair Removal in the area with Semi-Permanent Make-Up?
Due to the pigment in the skin and the impact, if it is exposed to laser light, it is NOT safe to carry out laser hair removal on areas close to those with Semi-Permanent Make-Up.
Are you able to get lip fillers at the same time as semi-permanent lips?
Not at the same time because there needs to be at least 4 weeks between the treatments. However, if you’re interested in adding fillers as well as having semi-permanent lips, please discuss this with us during your consultation to ensure you achieve optimum results from your semi-permanent makeup.
Can I keep my eyelash extensions on during my semi-permanent eyeliner treatment?
No. If worn, lash extensions should be removed at least one week before the treatment.

Whilst Scalp Micro-pigmentation is not pain-free, it is not a particularly uncomfortable procedure – as with any treatment, everyone has a different pain threshold, some clients feel minimal discomfort and other clients feel varying degrees of discomfort. Will I have to shave my head?
It is helpful for the client to attend the consultation with some hair growth, so the practitioner can assess the natural hair growth and hair loss. The area will be shaved for the patch test. During the treatment session itself, the practitioner may require a shaved head in order to provide the best results. (Please note, this may not be the case for hair thickening treatments)
